Ibadan
Ibadan, with the population of over 2.5 million, is the third largest city in Nigeria right after Lagos and Kano. The city is the capital of Oyo State. Ibadan is situated 130 km (80 miles) north-east of Lagos. The city's name in Yoruba is Ìlú Èbá-Ọdàn and it means "the town at the junction the savannah and the forest". Most of the inhabitants of Ibadan are Yoruba people.
Ibadan is a center of trade for farming areas producing cocoa, cotton, timber, rubber and palm oil. Chief industries include the processing of agricultural crops, metal industry, chemical industry and manufacture of cigaretts. In Ibadan there are headquarters of a number of well known companies like Afprint Nig, Africola, Globacom, NTC Ibadan, Nigeria Breweries, Coca Cola Breweries, Nigeria Tobacco Company, West Africa Print, just to name the few.
